Bridge Kids International’s Our Place at Ben Washer Park is a dynamic green space that celebrates culture and community.  A hub of positive activity, Our Place at Ben Washer Park gathers people across generations around great food, creative expression, and living full, healthy lives.

Our Story

Our Place at Ben Washer Park ignites an infectious spirit of community in Limerick. Bridge Kids International transformed a deteriorating building in an underutilized pocket park to establish Our Place at Ben Washer Park, the organization’s global headquarters and home to its hands-on, life-affirming programs. In keeping with BKI’s values of self-sufficiency and sustainability, two social enterprises run by young adults -- Our Place Café featuring Nice Cream and the Our Place Boutique – help fund the operations of the building and programs provided there.

On the second floor of Our Place is the ATTIC (Act, Think, Teach, Inspire, Create) where the young and young at heart explore the arts, STEM, and wellness and develop their own solutions to challenges in their lives and communities. The building has been renovated according to platinum WELL Building standards which guide how the built environment can promote human health and wellbeing.

Our Place at Ben Washer Park fills crucial gaps in the Limerick neighborhood and beyond – adding a much-needed healthy eating establishment, jobs, creative programming, and place for young people, families, and neighbors to gather in a safe and affirming environment. Stop in, stay a while, change your life, and maybe change the world!
