Keeping the Vision

Establishing Our Place at Ben Washer Park has been an act of love. It has taken perseverance and the encouragement and financial support of many friends to bring our vision to reality. Our Place returns this building and this park to the community, so the investment of time and treasure has been a collective endeavor with a collective benefit. Bridge Kids is humbled and thrilled to lead this charge.

One of the greatest lessons of this process is about time. It’s taken 11 years to get here. You can imagine the periods of excitement, frustration, and angst we have experienced. We can attest that things happen in their own time, and you have to trust God, the universe and the process for the right alignment. We have spent these years building relationships and gaining knowledge and stamina.

We have the right team onboard and eagerly anticipate opening in February 2025. Our Place Café and Our Place Boutique are brand new ventures, and we welcome the challenge of making them successful. Having our own social enterprises is a giant leap toward self-determination. There will be new lessons, discoveries, triumphs, and friendships along the way. We invite you to join us on the journey!
